From the Desk of SAโ€™s NAWBO PRESIDENTโ€ฆ.

I am happy to report that we are hitting all of our goals for this year.

  1. Accelerating OUR Growth
We are continuously growing our membership and their involvement in the Chapter. More than 80 members and guests attended our August Monthly Meeting with Congressman Will Hurd, and we are adding new programs and events.
  2. Recognizing OUR achievementย

Save the Date for the Women Business Owner Awards Celebration when we will be celebrating the accomplishments of some amazing women business owners.

Our award is the only award of its kind.ย  It is the only award given, exclusively, to womenย business ownersย by their peers.

We are inviting our community to join us in this celebration on Thursday, March 22, 2018.ย  There are many ways you can participate:

  • Nominateย a deserving woman to be considered for the award.
  • Be part of the judging committee of the nominees. Contactย Lynn Weirichย if you would like to be involved.
  • Join us at the event by purchasing a ticket or table.
  • Be a celebration or category sponsor to publicly show your support of women business owners. Contactย Susan Deitikerย for more sponsorship information.
  1. Empowering USย
We are constantly thinking of ways to develop partnerships to help you improve your business. Our Alliance Partner, theSmall Business Development Centerat UTSA, has invited us to participate in theย American Business Womenโ€™s Day Conferenceย and we would like you all to join us for this great opportunity.ย Downloadinformation packet.

We also want to invite you to go to the NAWBO National website to theย NAWBO Instituteย where you will find great resources for your business.

  1. Making OUR voice heardย
Congressman Will Hurd spoke very candidly to us at our August Monthly Meeting. He shared with us that the only way to make our voices HEARD is toengage your representativeswith your concerns on social media and by email before the issues hit Washington.
  2. Advocacy for OUR young womenย
Our Entrepreneurial Connections Program is off to a great start.

Our first event for the year will take place at the Rosenberg SkyRoom on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.Evening Connections is an event where students network with women business owners and begin exploring what it takes to start a business. Students learn about the importance of continuing their education, financial literacy, and business etiquette.

Help make these young girlsโ€™ dreams of entrepreneurship become a reality by joining as aย Silent Partner.

Please feel free to reach out to me with anything you need to make your membership meaningful!

See you at the next event.

Cece Smith
