If someone in your life is venturing off and starting a business or is offering a service, like their business page on social media. Share it, share it, interact with it. This is one of the easiest ways to support a business. Most consumers check a business’s social media accounts when deciding where to go; if their organization has a lot of support, people usually trust that business a little more.

Shop at their store

Shopping at their store or purchasing their service is a standard practice for supporting a friend. Go to their salon and treat yourself to a new hairdo. Buy from their local establishment. And when you do, tell everyone how great the product is! Share it on your social media, tell your co-workers and family. When purchasing something from your friend’s small business, don’t ask for a discount! Support them buy paying what they charge.

Communicate

Sometimes just a phone call can make someone’s day. With a lot of us in isolation for several months, it’s great to hear a friendly voice. Ask them how their doing, if they need anything, or see if they want to video chat. Exchange words of encouragement. Send a daily text to check in with her.

Help out a new mom

Becoming a mom for the first time is a rewarding yet challenging adventure. It can be an overwhelming feat for any new mom. If you have extra baby items, give them to your loved one. Take her out to a nice lunch or bring her her favorite coffee. Your help doesn’t need to just consist of materialistic items; you can cook her some tasty meals, babysit while she takes a relaxing bath, and call her often to make sure her sanity is still intact.

Show up for her

Does she need a gym buddy to help keep her accountable? Join her! If she’s moving into a new home, help her unpack. Small acts of kindness go above and beyond most physical gifts.
